Welcome to an evening of delicious food, fine wine and a stimulating discussion of the written word. Our host, Barnaby Beanblossom, has gathered some of the leading authors from various genres to join us for a literary feast. Be sure to meet fan fiction darlings, Zanzibar Newton and Caressa Bedham, along with Strike Cerulean, that master of science fiction. Popular mystery writer, Agatha Throckbottom will be here, as will Carlie Canfield, current author of the Game of Drones series created by Joe Jernigan, whose absence will be felt during our meeting.
Writers are known to take a tiny spark and fan it into an inferno that engulfs the reader in the worlds they create. The imaginative energy surging through this group of wordsmiths is likely to ignite passions and inflame past grudges that could result in an unhappy ending for someone. In the event of a shocking crime, it will be up to you and your table of sleuths to discover who could commit such a dastardly deed. So, think of a clever name for your table, er, detective agency and listen carefully for clues. At the designated time, your agency will be asked to formulate a question that your delegated chief detective will ask a suspect. Once all tables have completed their questioning, each detective agency will submit a solution sheet indicating “who done it” and why. The first agency to name the most correct motive and culprit wins.
Carlie Canfield was the co-author of some of the Game of Drones books created by Joe Jernigan, until his untimely death, at which time she became the sole wordsmith. She is hoping that her new book, A Proper Courtship, will establish her as this generation’s Jane Austen. Will she continue to drone on and on, or will she meet her final deadline tonight?
Fifty Shades of Fuchsia is the break out hit of the year and the author of this racy tome is soaking up the limelight surrounding its release. Caressa Bedham is tickled pink that her book is about to be made into a movie. Some are green with envy. Will she end up blood red dead?
Zanzibar Newton thrills fans with her Fangs, Fur and Fury series, featuring vampires, zombies and werewolves. Her newest book is The Vampire Bites the Dust. What spooky events await her? Is she about to turn fantasy into reality, or will she end up as the Ghostwriter?
Agatha Throckbottom is the popular author of many cozy mysteries including The Belladonna Garden Mysteries, and her newest offering, Crocheting for Clues. Will her yarn spinning get her tied up in knots, or is she about to pull the wool over someone’s eyes permanently?
Astral Hike is Strike Cerulean’s latest bestseller. Perhaps you saw him at the recent Comic Con where he introduced his two new characters Bark and Amphibiman. Will one of his villains end up dead, or will this be his final cape-er?
Things have not been the same since the sudden death of Joe Jernigan a couple of years ago. His fans miss his writing style and larger-than-life personae. Will he come back from the dead to reclaim his Game of Drones Series, or will he make an appearance as one of Zanzibar’s undead heroes?
Our host for the evening, Barnaby Beanblossom, of Burials by Barnaby, made quite a name for himself, creating extravagant funerals for the rich and famous. Now he is a collector of fine art and books. His literary evenings are the talk of the town. Will he throw the book at a devious character, or will tonight be the end of his final chapter?
